I totally agree, nowadays with all the information online and our culture of instant gratification it feels like we're supposed to absorb every blog post we find and make a plan to implement it immediately. It's nice to read something thought provoking and say "That looks fun, but it's not for me. At least not right now." As far as cooking, I'm totally with you. I never take a recipe at face value. I'm always looking at the snapshot or concept and thinking how can I make this my own.
